Tonto Helsinki · Production service

Finland, handled.

Local production service for international film, photo and content shoots. Bring your director and key crew, or just the idea. We’ll take care of the rest, from Helsinki to Lapland.

Why Finland

A lot of looks in one small, well-run country.

Design-led cities, endless forest, lakes, the archipelago and the Arctic north, all within a short flight of Helsinki. English is spoken everywhere and things tend to run on time. We like that too.

of the country is forest. Mostly the photogenic kind.

What we do

One producer. Everything local.

You get one person who knows the crews, the suppliers and the permits, and a budget that stays where it was agreed.

01

Budget & line production

A local estimate with the scope and assumptions spelled out, then day-to-day production management once it’s a go.

02

Locations & permits

Scouting, recces, agreements and permits. We check the look, the access and the parking.

03

Crew & casting

English-speaking crews and local talent, built around the people you bring.

04

Equipment & studios

Camera, lighting, grip and studio space, matched to your technical brief.

05

Travel & logistics

Transport, hotels, catering and on-set care. Everything that keeps a crew warm, fed and on time.

06

Post support

Local post-production when you need it, or a clean handover to your own team.

When to shoot

Four seasons. Four very different countries.

Finland changes completely through the year. Tell us the look you’re after and we’ll tell you when and where to find it.

Dec – Mar

Winter

Snow, low sun and a blue hour that takes its time. Northern lights in Lapland.

Frozen archipelago waters and wooded islands viewed above the treetops.

Apr – May

Spring

Snow still in the north, melt in the south and days that get longer by the week.

A large diffusion screen and crew member on a sandy beach set at sunset.

Jun – Aug

Summer

White nights in Helsinki, midnight sun in Lapland. Long, generous shooting days.

Film lights and reflector panels in a field under a cloudy sky.

Sep – Nov

Autumn

Ruska colours on the fells, misty lakes and cities in a moody mood.

Where

From city streets to the Arctic fells.

Send us your references. We’ll scout the look and check what references never show: access, permits, daylight and where the trucks can park.

Helsinki & other cities

Nordic architecture, waterfronts, concrete suburbs and industrial spaces. Helsinki can play itself, or a surprising number of other cities.

Finnish Lapland

Fells, frozen lakes, snow that stays put and light that does strange, beautiful things. We plan timing and logistics around the season.

Lakes, forests & coast

Lakeside cabins, deep forest and the archipelago, some of it less than an hour from Helsinki.

Unusual requests

Need a tank? Ask.

Yes, it was on set. Snowmobiles, ice roads and empty factories are easier.

One more thing

The sauna is on us.

Every production we service ends the Finnish way, with a proper sauna for your crew and clients.

It’s included. The cold dip is optional.

FAQ

Before you book the flights.

Can we bring our own director and crew?

Of course. Bring your director and key crew, and we’ll build the Finnish team, equipment and production support around them.

Do you work outside Helsinki?

Yes, all over Finland, including Lapland. We’re based in Helsinki and travel with the job.

When is the best time to shoot?

That depends on the look. Send us references and rough dates, and we’ll tell you honestly what the light, weather and season will give you.

What does it cost?

Send us what you have: a brief, dates and a budget range. You’ll get a local estimate with the scope and assumptions spelled out, so there are no surprises later.

How early should we get in touch?

As soon as Finland is on the table. We can check locations and availability while the idea is still taking shape. A finished treatment is not needed.

Contact

Send us the brief. Or just the dates.

Tell us what you’re planning. References, dates and a budget range all help, but none of them are required to get started.
