What we believe

Five things we won’t compromise on.

The idea leads the production.

A production involves hundreds of decisions: who directs, who performs, what the light looks like, what to leave out. When the idea is clear, every decision comes down to the same question: does this make the idea stronger? That’s why we choose the people to fit the idea, rather than the other way round. And why a big production only makes sense when the idea needs one.

Funny is serious business.

An ad that makes you feel nothing is just an interruption. For the emotion to work, everything around it has to ring true. The actor believes in the character, the set plays it straight, and the bowling ball really is underwater. Serious subjects deserve the same care. There, it matters even more.

Chaos isn’t creativity.

Bad behaviour isn’t ambition. Clear responsibilities, schedules and decisions give people room to do their jobs well and question the idea while there’s still time to improve it. You don’t notice a good process in the finished work. You notice a bad one surprisingly often.

A campaign is more than the same ad in different sizes.

Or a collection of unrelated content. People rarely see every piece, so each one has to express the same idea in its own way. Channels change. The idea holds it all together.

You don’t have to make everything.

These days, one idea can generate endless content. That doesn’t mean it should. More content doesn’t make an idea bigger. Sometimes it just makes it harder to see. Good ideas should be made. And made well.

Campaign, product and portrait photography, as a standalone production or alongside a film. A photograph has one frame, and it has to carry the whole idea.

Radio commercials and other audio advertising. In audio, listeners create their own pictures, so we write the script for the ear.
